Welcome to NeuroQuest Enrichment Classes, located in Encinitas, California! NeuroQuest is a place where every learner is valued, understood, and supported. Our mission is to create an inclusive and nurturing educational environment that recognizes and celebrates neurodiversity. By integrating the latest in educational research and technology with compassionate and innovative approaches, we strive to empower all students to reach their full potential.

Who We Are

NeuroQuest is a center that offers daytime elective and core classes to supplement your child’s educational journey. We hire contractors (small businesses and individuals) to offer classes in STEM, art, cooking, theatre, music, reading, writing, math, and more at our facility. All our classes are led by experienced, neurodiversity-affirming staff, including former public/private school teachers and homeschoolers. All classroom adults undergo FBI fingerprint background checks.

Briana Songer

Founder, Vendor Partnerships

Briana Songer is an educator, entrepreneur, and the founder of NeuroQuest. With experience teaching K–10th grade in California and internationally, plus over a decade in marketing and business, Briana created NeuroQuest to fill a gap she couldn’t ignore—one she encountered personally as the mom of a twice-exceptional child. Her autistic and ADHD son struggled in public school, facing burnout and disconnection in environments that didn’t support how his brain worked.

NeuroQuest was born from a vision to change that. Briana designed a learning space where students are supported, challenged, and celebrated for who they are. With flexible pacing, hands-on projects, built-in movement, and a focus on real-world learning, NeuroQuest helps kids stay engaged and confident while meeting academic goals in ways that work for them.

Marla Pendley

Center Director & Vendor Coorindator

Marla Pendley, a credentialed teacher with over 20 years of experience, has taught from preschool to high school and appreciates all stages of development. Passionate about teaching French, English, humanities, and sciences, she finds joy in watching children learn. As a mother to three neurodivergent children with varying support needs, she is dedicated to discovering ways to support their emotional, social, and educational goals. Marla looks forward to collaborating with NeuroQuest students and helping them succeed.

Sharon Duncan

Head Teacher & Vendor Assistant

Sharon Duncan, an experienced California credentialed educator in special education for over a decade, has thrived in public school settings. With a Master’s in Sociology from SDSU and teaching credentials in General and Special Education from PLNU, she prioritizes personalized, strengths-based learning using multi-modal approaches in safe, trauma-informed environments. Her diverse background includes recent substitute teaching across all levels and personal insights from raising her neurodivergent son.
