Our Philosophy

At NeuroQuest, we believe that all students can succeed in their education through neuroaffirming, strength-based approaches. We strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment by promoting self directed learning where children are respected, heard, and assumed competent. With traditional schools cutting electives like art, music, PE, theatre, and STEM, NeuroQuest aims to reignite a passion for learning, creating, and growing with a like-minded community of peers.

Our Game Plan

We offer on-campus classes and tutoring ages 4-16 with learning guides and teachers to support homeschool and charter school curriculum for children in San Diego. Students can attend select from core or elective enrichment class 4 days a week, Mon/Wed, 9-12:30 and Tues/Thr, 8:30-2:30. Parents can stay on campus and work in our co-working area for free or drop off while children enjoy their classes.

Our Staff

All our classes are taught by staff who have undergone federal background checks and extensive neuroaffirming training. Our strategies include maintaining a low instructor-to-child ratio (1:7), using a low-demands approach, employing declarative language, and applying Ross Greene’s Collaborative Proactive Solutions for problem-solving. These methods help children feel safe, encouraging participation and reducing behavior problems. Our teachers value regulation over compliance and relationships over tradition.

“We value emotional regulation over compliance. Being flexible is key to helping a child to feel safe so they can access better learning experiences.”

Core & Elective
Classes

Our enrichment classes for students are specially designed to allow kids to decompress and socialize in a low-demands environment. Students can choose between cooking, art, music, theatre, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, math, robotics, legos, etc).

Tutoring
Services

Get personalized attention and support for children who need some extra attention in specific subjects, including dyslexia, from our expert tutors. Bring your school work and our tutors will work with your child to learn and grow while providing breaks in our sensory room and outdoor area when needed.

Workshops

We’ve partnered with community businesses and teachers to offer STEM (legos, robotics), art, music, and aerial yoga, and even gaming competitions to engage your child’s special interests. We also have things like a parent book club and monthly gatherings to learn from educational experts on the best way to support our children in homeschooling.

Esports

Through team play, projects and games, students will learn to socialize and work as a team. “Social skills” are not taught in isolation, but rather embedded into the program. Kids can participate in Gamer tournaments like Fortnite, Minecraft, Rocket League, Smash Bros. Ultimate and more..

Sensory
Integration

All children benefit from autonomy and space to learn. Our students can jump on a trampoline or into a sensory swing to regulate at any point in their classes and tutoring sessions. We always emphasize regulation over compliance. They are encouraged to take breaks when they need them and return to their class when they ready.

Field Trips

Join us optionally for monthly field trips to places like Tide Pools, Zoo, The Children’s Museum, Safari Park, and more. We believe in stepping outside the classroom to play, learn and apply social skills to real life situations. Kids need play with teach other and time to explore to truly comprehend concepts they are learning in the classroom.
